Building Cyberpunk Streets in Unreal Engine

One of the Unreal Engine community members presented his amazing project.

Unreal Engine community member Adder presented his cyberpunk UE4 scene he has been working on in his spare time. The artist has yet to solve some problems with performance, but the project is mind-blowing! He was able to catch this cyberpunk magic, making the streets believable. CD Projekt RED should definitely give him a call.

I would like to share with the community something I’ve been working on for fun in my spare time. I’ve always liked the atmosphere of cyberpunk environments, so I’ve decided to put together some of my own. This still need a lot of polishing and tweaking, but I think it shows off the mood I’m going for well enough.

Everything here was created by me except for the human characters (some of which are from Epic’s released content, some were put together in Mixamo Fuse).

Lighting is 100% real time, a combination of DFAO and HBAO+

Performance is not the best at the moment, as I was recording at full HD at max settings, and my machine cannot handle that so well. Also, there’s absolutely no optimization done for this level (+recording software also takes its toll). Sorry about that, I may do some optimizing in the future.

Well, that is just awesome. How many million years did it take you to create all those assets? Just curious since I've spent all day on just one building, and I haven't even started on the high detail street-level part of it yet. After seeing this though I've realized that having a fake interior is a definite must for the lower levels. I was going to go with just textured windows, but seeing how good it looks with lights inside I've changed my mind. Thanks, now I got even more work :P

If you're going to criticize the use of a language that is clearly not the artist's first language, make sure your spelling and grammar are correct when using a language that is clearly not your first language.
