Tutorial: Making a Custom Buoyancy Solution With Niagara in UE5

Ghislain Girardot released the first part of the comprehensive tutorial dedicated to setting up advanced boat simulations.

Ghislain Girardot, a 3D Artist and an expert on all things digital water, has shared Advanced Boat Simulation: Part 1, the first part of the comprehensive tutorial that explains how to set up a custom buoyancy solution in Unreal Engine 5.

In this tutorial, the creator explained how to leverage the engine's Blueprints and Niagara to create the solution, discussed the advantages of the demonstrated technique, showed the production pipeline in UE5, and shared some tips and tricks on creating realistic water simulations. Furthermore, the author has also shared the project files behind the solution, which are available via Patreon.

According to the author, the second part of the tutorial, dedicated to creating "a foam capture system able to accurately capture splashes intersecting with the water", is already in the works and will be released in the near future.
