The Legion – Cinematic Trailer by Gnomon Student

A story of an alien told with the help of modern tools.

Santhosh Koneru, 3D Generalist from Gnomon presented his small cinematic trailer he did as part of demo reel project at school. The project not only shows the power of modern tools, but also demonstrated that sometimes you don’t need a huge studio to create top-notch content.

Tons of tools were used to create this piece of art – Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Nuke, Mari, etc. What is more, different techniques were implemented to build a cinematic short. For example, as shown in the video, the artist used camera tracking and motion capture as parts of production process.
